Established in 1994, HighNet provides a wide range of innovative and progressive telecommunications solutions to businesses across the UK. Starting out as a family run business with 2 employees, HighNet has seen continuous growth and development with 50 employees across two offices based in Inverness and Glasgow.
HighNet’s extensive product range includes fixed IP and hosted telephony, broadband and data, mobile services, and unified communications. In 2012, they built and launched their own ISP network allowing them to provide the very best internet access and data center capacity for partners and customers to design and build private, hybrid and public cloud services. In 2015, this network was upgraded further, making it future-proof to support their continuing growth.
2016 sees HighNet working in partnership with CityFibre to make Glasgow, Edinburgh, and Aberdeen “Gigabit Cities”. This project will give access to cost-effective uncontended fibre connectivity, ranging from speeds of 100Mbps to 10Gbs, and overtime will extend to other cities across the country and the whole of the UK.
With a clear mission statement, “to use our skill, foresight and pride to enable the evolution of our customer’s telecoms as no other can”, HighNet’s driving force is meeting customer needs. By providing innovative solutions, having a dedicate network of Channel Partners, and investing in staff training and development, they continue to thrive in a highly competitive and fast paced industry.
In 2015 HighNet achieved both IIP and IIYP accreditation, the first in Scotland to gain both simultaneously, and in 2016 they were winners of Highland Business Awards Best Family Business and Best Highland Business awards. These achievements, along with many other awards throughout the years, are testament to the commitment to staff development including everything from training and qualifications to leadership and people management processes.
